In the middle of a neighborhood of Yokohama, not far from Tokyo, proudly stands one of the most famous ruins of Japan: the Negishi Grandstand. In 1866, the Emperor Meiji ordered the construction of a horse racecourse and an English architect was commissioned to build this grandstand.
