My first visit of the island of Shikoku was a lot of fun, there was so many haikyo there and the roads were beautiful, either along the infinite-looking Pacific Ocean or in the hills and mountains. We were also blessed by a stormy but enjoyable weather which gave us a lot of different kinds of lights to play with.
Getting to the Izari Health Center (お水荘ヘルスピア) was a bit tiring, only a very long and narrow winding road leads to the place. The complex was a huge place to visit. There was a hotel with many rooms, a restaurant, a gym and, of course, the aquatic park itself with sliding tubes and swimming pools. There was also a beautiful view on the ocean which certainly was a big plus for this place’s success. Unfortunately, it seems it wasn’t viable financially and was abandoned in 2007. The prefecture of Tokushima being not particularly famous for its increasing youth, we can guess it was one of the cause the place wasn’t viable financially. It closed in 2007.
