Land Cruiser Haikyo

At the bottom of a forgotten sunken road, squeezed between two moss-covered stone retaining walls, sits a Toyota Land Cruiser that hasn’t moved in years. Fallen leaves have piled up on the hood and started turning into soil. Moss has colonized every panel. A fallen tree now blocks the way it must once have come. The doors still open, and inside, the dashboard and seatbelts are slowly going green behind a cracked windshield.

How it ended up there is a mystery. The old track is barely wider than the car itself, and nothing about the place explains why someone would drive in and simply walk away from a perfectly good 4×4. It is one of those small, wordless haikyo that raise more questions than a whole abandoned hotel. Photographed in the autumn of 2022.
