Biwako Ferris Wheel

The Biwako Ferris Wheel used to stand proudly next to the Lake Biwa, a few kilometers from Kyoto. It was part of a small amusement park called Igosu 108.

In 2013, the Ferris Wheel was dismantled, put in containers and shipped away. Yes, the Biwako Ferris Wheel is now in used somewhere else! If you have some time, please look it up, you might find its new home and nice fresh photos 🙂

It Is Used In Palette Town, In Tokyo!

    • Haha, no, it is not the same one 🙂 I actually visited this haikyo after I used the one at Palette Town, so it can’t be. This haikyo is being used somewhere else… Good luck for finding the location 🙂

What About This! It Is Now Called The Daikanransha Ferris Wheel, In Odaiba Japan! Not Sure!

    • Okay, I will just tell you one thing. It is actually… not in Japan! 😉

Took a couple minutes, but I figured out where it is. 🙂 Nice to see a haikyo actually rescued and reused.

An interesting side note, from 1992 to 1995 it was the tallest Ferris wheel in the world.

While on a trip to Osaka a few years ago, I went to Kyoto for the day. I went to catch what I thought was the train back to Osaka. On the train I saw a ferris wheel and presumed it was the Rinku town ferris wheel that I had seen before, but it was actually this ferris wheel on Lake Biwa and I was on a train going non-stop to Tsuruga instead lol.
